![]() ![]() I can tell you that this simulation is very close to the real thing and that's taking into account the lack of sensory inputs of simulations and I am referring to the classic and not the -8. I've only flown the 747 sim once, but have 8 years in the cockpit and have a fairly good idea how it flies. XP: 747 8i not as good as PMDG747 so far as i testedĢ.flight control doesnt feel like real, maybe the 4core2.8g >x760 2g GPU with 4g RAM cannt drive the monster!ģ.control part not more the PMDG747 at all!ĭont know if it need a stronger pc or not? I m new to xp-plane although i am old hand for FSX. PMDG simulates a 747-400 so it is a bit different (their 747-8 series are external models only - they say so themselves quite clearly so this is not a criticism of the product). ![]() One more thing, the SSG 747-8 includes system enhancements that are particular to that model and matched performance to book values from Boeing. No X-Plane (or MSFS) add on can perfectly replicate an aircraft's behavior, you have to make compromises. But if you have a specific comment/criticism we are definitely open to suggestions. We try very hard to make it realistic in this regard. I am a pilot (not jet rated) and personally have flown a full motion 747-300 simulator (years ago) so I have some sense of how a 747 should fly. We work closely with real world 747 pilots who try the aircraft and give us input. Your comments about "flight control" and "control part" I am a bit puzzled by. We always strive to make it more efficient and gain performance where possible but we are constrained by the size of the aircraft and the demands of a 3D cockpit. And yes, that is a constant battle to keep good frame rates but the development team does not have high-end liquid cooled gaming machines so if we can run the add on with decent performance then so should most others. I also don't understand some of your comments such as "source monster" - I think you are talking about resources. ![]() My issue has been with FSX which tends to crash a lot but that's not PMDG's fault. I have purchased many PMDG products including their 747 line and they are excellent. So we can only highlight what we think is good about our version of the 747-8 and leave it to others to say what how it compares to another version in another sim. ![]() This is a difficult topic as a developer because as a rule we do not criticize other developers or their products. Keeping fingers crossed for your PC upgrade but also hoping that you will try playing with the rendering settings first to get some acceptable balance and being able to enjoy SSG B747-8i.ĭo not forget to take a look at the tutorial videos which might put some light on things that otherwise might seem to be not working. So flying the plane in simulator being a real pilot or not is one thing and making statements on how realistic the X-Plane model "feels" are totally different subjects. " How any person who never piloted a real aircraft can say if the X-Plane model feels real or not?" Plainly impossible in my opinion. What I meant is that to make a comment on how realistically the X-Plane model flies versus a real one, one has to be a real pilot of a particular aircraft or at least a group of similar aircraft ( like B747 family).Ĭommon sense makes me ask a question ( not just you but many people I have seen in the past making similar statements on various aircraft, not just SSG B747-8i): I would first try to lower your Rendering Settings from the pull down menu to make simulator run the fastest possible on your PC and then increase gradually the setting watching the frame rate until you get reasonable balance.Īs far as real feel of flying you misunderstood my reply. Unfortunately, any more complex aircraft for X-Plane allows better hardware to have more realistic experience but from the number of your posts I assume that you are relatively new to X-Plane world. ![]()
